Tattoos can be a badge of honor that you take pride in when others see them, or they can be an embarrassing memento to a decision made in a less than sober or enlightened moment. If you find yourself with one of the latter, we would be happy to help you bid adieu to that unsavory memory at En Vogue Medical Spa! Our medical estheticians provide affordable and effective laser tattoo removal services to anyone that wants to get rid of a cringe-worthy tattoo!

Why choose PicoSure® laser tattoo removal?

PicoSure® by CynoSure® is the world’s first picosecond laser which operates at one trillionth of a second making it extremely fast and effective for tattoo removal! This advanced medical grade laser has the ability to treat stubborn black ink, as well as every color on the spectrum which makes it ideal for the removal of botched body tattoos and permanent make-up. PicoSure® can treat virtually any part of the body and is effective for the removal of tattoos in any size. While older laser tattoo removal systems simply heat the ink in the skin, PicoSure® both heats and fractures the tattoo’s ink into tiny particles, allowing for better absorption and eventual elimination by the body. As a result, this cutting-edge technology has vastly improved the tattoo removal process.  The speed at which the PicoSure® Laser operates generates a special energy creating a pulsed PressureWave™ effect on the tattoo ink, lessening the risk of damage to the skin in comparison to traditional Q-switched or Nd-YAG lasers. In short – Our lasers are faster, tougher on ink and safer on skin!

What kind of tattoo’s can we remove?

Thanks to our advanced PicoSure® technologies, we can work on even the more challenging tattoo colors that at one time would have been impossible to eliminate from the skin. It is even an alternative for those who have tried tattoo removal before but gave up after seeing the poor results. From permanent make-up to body tattoo’s, we have all of your tattoo removal needs covered!

Why are 3 wavelengths so important for tattoo removal lasers?

It gives the ability to remove tattoo colors from across the spectrum. Most lasers operate at only a single wavelength, making it hard to ‘see’ colors that fall outside of that wavelength and therefore not optimal for removing certain colors of tattoos or working on certain skin tones. PicoSure® 3-Wavelength technology operates at 532nm, 755nm and 1064 nm respectively, covering all the colors in the rainbow.

How many sessions does it take to remove a tattoo by laser?

Ultimately, the number of sessions it takes to remove a tattoo through laser treatment depends on your skin color, the size and location of your tattoo, any pre-existing scarring, the amount of ink, how old the tattoo is, and the color of the tattoo. However, most tattoos can be either entirely or satisfactorily removed in as few as ten treatment sessions. Your skin will need to heal between appointments. Consequently, laser tattoo removal will take some time and patience. Typically, laser tattoo removal sessions are spaced apart by six to eight weeks. As such, it will probably take around one year before you can totally say sayonara to that tattoo! In the meantime, you will notice gradual improvement with each session.

Does it work on all skin types?

Yes! The PicoSure® laser uses advanced technology to specifically target skin with the tattoo ink pigment in it, targeting only the desired treatment area. This makes it safe and effective for all skin types on the Fitzpatrick scale I-VI.

Is the PicoSure® tattoo removal treatment safe?

PicoSure® Laser treatment is a safe and effective method for removing tattoos when it’s performed by a certified technician trained to use medical grade tattoo removal lasers.

Can laser completely remove tattoos?

With enough sessions and determination, it is possible to remove your tattoo altogether! That said, while it is our goal at En Vogue Medical Spa to completely remove your unwanted tattoo with our laser tattoo removal services, we cannot guarantee that your tattoo will be removed entirely. Specific colors of tattoos, such as black, are more likely to be effectively removed than others, including red, blue, or green tattoos. Other factors that affect how easily a tattoo can be completely removed include skin color, size, location, amount of ink used, how much you smoke, how long you have had the tattoo, and if you have scarring or tissue damage. The lighter your skin color, the older your tattoo, and the less you smoke, the more likely it is that we can completely remove your tattoo.

How painful is laser tattoo removal?

While laser treatment for tattoo removal is not the most comfortable procedure, the pain and discomfort are akin to getting a tattoo, and the process is much quicker. Depending on the size of the treatment area, a tattoo removal session can take as little as a few minutes. Anesthetic is not required for laser tattoo removal, but it can be applied upon request. There will also likely be some soreness and tenderness after each treatment session, which can be managed with ice or a cold compress on the treatment area. We focus on making the procedure as comfortable as possible. In preparation for a laser procedure doctors recommend that non-aspirin products be used for minor pain. Don’t use aspirin or Ibuprofen as this can produce bruising after treatment. We are also unique in using the Zimmer Cryo 6 cooling system, reducing pain while decreasing thermal temperature.

Can I fade my tattoo for a cover up?

Yes! Many tattoo artists encourage customers to lighten an existing tattoo before covering it with a new one. This dramatically reduces any chance of the old tattoo appearing through the new one. In most cases, a minimum of three to six treatments is all that’s required to lighten an existing tattoo.

Can you remove a tattoo without laser treatment?

There are a few different ways to remove a tattoo, but none are as effective or anti-invasive as laser treatment. Some of these alternatives include microdermabrasion, chemical peels, excision, cryosurgery, or tattoo cover-ups. The more effective of these, such as excision, require surgery and anesthetic, while the less invasive like microdermabrasion or chemical peels are not very effective. In this way, laser treatment for tattoo removal is the best of both worlds, in that it is highly effective and minimally invasive.

Will my insurance pay for the treatment?

Currently, this procedure is not included as a health insurance benefit. We do offer financing and payment plan options, call for more information.
